Who is LuAnn? 

A little about me and how I came to be doing this

Curious to know what I did in my past life? I practiced as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for over 25 years. (I did take some time off to be a SAHM to my 4 boys when they were young)

I have practiced in several different areas of pediatrics during my career including childhood cancer, brain tumor, primary care, newborn nursery, child sexual abuse and in a homeless clinic for children. What did all of these have in common? All of these settings, parents were often in a place of crisis. Yes. Even the happy and joyous time of having a newborn is still a crisis situation for parents. Any situation where parents feel they are faced with something they are not fully prepared for can cause some feelings of panic and crisis. I have  learned from these parents that the one thing that moves people from a place of crisis to being able to take the next step forward is education. I quickly realized that if I could help parents learn what they needed to move forward, they felt much more confident in their ability to care for their child - no matter what the issue. 

I feel very blessed to have had to opportunity to work with so many different families over the years and have loved every area that I have worked in. But, my heart was drawn to working with families of new babies and young children. I think it just broke my heart to see so many parents working so hard to do ALL THE THINGS that they heard it took to be a "good parent". 

I started my own business after seeing so many parents becoming overwhelmed and confused when searching for information on the internet about how to care for their baby. 

You can find the answer to anything you are looking on the web. BUT, the problem is that a lot of information you find is inaccurate, outdated, or not fact based. Some very popular sites are being taught by  people with no real expertise. And babies and parents are not robots. Everything you hear about doesn't necessarily work for YOU or YOUR child.

I wanted to make sure that there was a place that parents could come where they could find the fact based answers to their questions that would decrease the confusion and increase their confidence in caring for their baby. I want parents to believe that THEY are the experts in caring for their children. I found my calling in lending my expertise to parents until they find their own confidence. 

So, here we are - working together  to help you reach your goals in the way that feels best for your family with fact based education and lots of support.
